We turn these handles from carefully selected domestic and exotic hardwoods. We finish our handles using a friction polishing technique. Using only all natural renewable resources shellac, linseed oil, walnut oil and other natural products. This finish strictly adheres to established food safe standards and qualifies as non-toxic and food safe. After the finishing process is complete, we apply a non-toxic wax which is a blend of natural beeswax, carnauba wax and citrus oils. Finally we buff the handle to a clear, hard, satin finish. Our handles feature stainless steel hardware that will never rust or corrode.
La Pavoni machines have small portafilter handles that crack and break with age. Many are now obsolete and due to the smaller diameter. Our wooden replacement handle is handmade to the original La Povoni handle dimensions.

(The portafilter handle size should be determined by the portafilter body and the old ferrous bolt should be replaced with our stainless steel insert screw on the handle​ to prevent rust and eventual damage to the portafilter body.)

Lever handle option:
  • M12 threaded handle because all La Pavoni levers are 12mm and no insert screw is required. 

Replacement portafilter handle options are: 
  • ​M12 SS Insert Screw handle comes with a stainless 12mm insert that attaches to the portafilter basket.
    Choose this option for the Portafiler handle because it comes with a Stainless Insert screw to replace
    the original La Pavoni ferrous steel screw which is very prone to rust.
  • ​M10 SS Insert Screw handle is for old versions using a M10 bolt from 1950 to 1953.

Portfilter handle replacement for La Pavoni by model year: 
  • All models after 1996 use M12 sized bolts in the portafilter body
  • La Pavoni models from "around" 1994 and 1995, use a M10 x M12 conversion bolt. 
  • Older La Pavoni models from "around" 1950 to 1993 used a M10 bolt.
